Best cycling climbs around Barcelona
Cycling in La Conreria

We have plenty of climbs around Barcelona, that make enjoyable road cycling in Barcelona

In fact, there are so many interesting climbs that sometimes it is difficult to pick which to choose!

Montefusco Cycling shows the best 7 hills around Barcelona. The best ones in terms of views, scarce traffic, and also good surface. Also, all of them are very close to any point of centric Barcelona, so they are very easy to get.

Here you have them!

  1. Tibidabo. The king once you are in Barcelona. The best views. 500 meters height and multiple sides. It is the church you see on top of the mountain from all over Barcelona.
  2. Forat del Vent. Beautiful solitarire road. The loop including this climb and Tibidabo is the classical ride among locals.
  3. Creu d’Olorda. starting at Molins de Rei, it is a climb with scarce traffic ending close to Tibidabo
  4. Vallensana. Beautiful and solitaire climb north Barcelona
  5. La Conreria. This climb became popular when was included in Tour de France 2009, stage Girona-Barcelona.
  6. Coll de Parpers. It has become one of the favorite rides from Barcelona. No traffic at all as a tunnel was opened a few years ago to avoid de turns on the climb
  7. Orrius or Sant Bartomeu. Very close to Coll de Parpers, it is a very nice loop including both climbs. But, watch out, Orrius is steeper and longer.

Not too long, not too high, not so hard to get to the top, but mild climbs to enjoy cycling at its best! All year long, even on the coldest days in winter time these climbs are rideable. Maybe once a year you will see snow at the top of Tibidabo at 500 mts height? Maybe.

Another interesting thing about the climbs included in this list is that you can climb them very easily in just 2 stages (well, just one if you are a die-hard cyclist!).

More: all these climbs have been included in the Volta a Catalunya and Vuelta a España stages, but did you know that La Conreria was also included in the Tour de France 2009?
