Transpyrenees Cycling Supported Tour

Transpyrenees Cycling Tour

Pyrenees Coast to coast trip is one of the most classic trips in the cycling world.
This trip goes from the Atlantic Ocean to the Mediterranean Sea in 8 stages along the main climbs all over the Pyrenees. It can also be the opposite direction, it will all depend on your flights. Usually we like ending in Barcelona as it is easier to fly back home (wherever it is).

The Transpyrenees trip can be fully customized according to your needs, in terms of distance and difficulty. It can be done in 6-7-8 or 10 stages including more or less climbs.

Next July we have a trip open for individuals. See stage details on the “Itinerary” tab.

Legendary climbs

In this trip you will climb the most legendary climbs included in Tour de France: Col du Tourmalet (mandatory picture with the giant cyclist on top!), Aubisque (big bikes and then Cirque du Litor), Peyresourde (and its famous creperie on top) or Aspin (always with the cows). There are many famous mountains to climb in this Transpyrenees cycling trip, but also other not-so-known mountain tops, as Port de Bales, Port de la Bonaigua, Col de Portillon, or Coll de la Creueta!

Organization takes care of all the logistics, this way you just focus on the cycling. Our van will transport your luggage, and you will have it at the hotel at the end of every stage. You will love our hotel choice, the best hotels to stop by, to rest and to have dinner. Breakfast, dinner, and some quick lunch at the top of some climb, all that is on our side.

Do not miss this opportunity and join us! It is a lifetime experience!

Stage 2

Saint Jean de Pied de Port-Bielle 99 km including Marie Blanque, a very steep climb included in Tour de France 2020. For those not-so-strong riders, it is possible to skip the climb to Marie Blanque and save some forces for the next day.

Stage 3

Bielle-Luz St Sauveur 72 km with Aubisque. Short second stage with lots of options if some cyclist wants to include an additional second climb before getting to the hotel. One steep option is Luz Ardiden (stage ending in several Tour de France), a scenic one is Cirque du Gavarnie, and a steep and scenic one is Cirque du Trumouse. Your choice!

Pyrenees 2019, Atlantic to the Mediterranean

I have been on two other bike trips with other companies and Montefusco Cycling (Claudio) is by far the best. 8 riders, all friends, started in Hondarribia on the Atlantic ending in Tossa de Mar on the Mediterranean in 9 days. There were epic climbs including the Tourmalet, great support, great hotels, and great meals. Incredible value!! Thank you Claudio and François for making the trip a memorable one!

“Custom 7-day tour – Girona into the Pyrenees (and back)”

Last July Claudio arranged an amazing 7 day, supported tour for me and 7 members of my Canadian cycling Squadra. All of them avid and competitive cyclists. We began in Girona, and did a big loop north into the Pyrenees, including a night in France (Aix Les Thermes) and Andorra, averaging about 110-120 km per day. A week later we ended our ride at Mar de Tossa, a beautiful seaside resort on the Costa Brava near Girona.

Claudio worked out all details of our route, meals, hotels, etc. while providing support on the road/moving our baggage from town to town. We have previously done several bike tours in Pyrenees and alps with other cyclo-tour organizers (including Duck tours, cyclo mondo) but Claudio was absolutely the best!

I wouldn’t hesitate to ride with Montefusco Tours again and I am already thinking about arranging a similar tour with Claudio in the basque

“Amazing group tour of Catalan with an incredible tour guide in Claudio”

Claudio put a week tour together for our group of 8. Started in Girona, into the Pyrenees and into France, Andorra, and ended on the Costa Brava. 100km plus per day. Great hotels and meals were arranged. The support van was always in the places it was needed. Highly recommended. Thanks Claudio
