Great cycling today with Bob along the Barcelona countryside! Even if Barcelona is a big city we’ve got plenty of solitaire roads around the city which make very enjoyable any ride from Barcelona. And, of course, our tours have nothing to do with a city tour! They are demanding real road bike tours.
Being Barcelona fit into the sea, 2 rivers (river Besos at north and river Llobregat at south) and the mountains (Collserola range of mountains), the key factor is heading to the mountains as soon as possible. Once at the solitaire mountain roads it is possible to do many loops on different climbs and roads. The highest point is Tibidabo, at 500 mts height, where you can find an amusement park and a church. And there you get the best views of the city, of course. But you also have very interesting climbs as Forat del Vent, Creu d’Olorda or the Collserola Sematary.
It is also possible to get to the Vineyards area (Penedes region), although it is a bit further. Our recommendation to ride in the vineyards is taking the train to Sant Sadurní d’Anoia and starting the Penedes bike tour (guided or self-guided)
